I need a new car key. Who has experience of ordering online.

This is for a 2010 Honda CRV

There are usually two elements to getting a new key although I have no experience of this Honda model. The key code that you have will allow someone to cut a new key with the correct shape which will unlock the car door, this is usually fairly cheap. The transponder in the key will then need coding/programming to communicate with the car electronically to allow it to disarm the alarm/immobiliser and start the engine. This operation often costs upwards of £100.

Timpsons do car keys got my Honda key from them , but only some branches have the tech to code them .

Got a good home service from a timpsons franchise holder but price has gone up a lot when I checked (remote key)

If the price of a replacement yale key is anything to go by, Timpsons are about 3X the price of an independent.

I avoid the local timpsons unless theres no alternative. A lot of the apparently independent replacement car key/fob suppliers just rent a web page from the domain holder.
