Hi all, I'm new and I can't find exactly where to introduce myself so feel free to move this post.

Anyway it's wonderful to see so much advice here, I've been learning quickly due to buying a 100 year old house and being thrown in at the deep end!

I'll probably keep mostly lurking but I'll chip in where I can, and maybe ask a few of my open questions.

A 100 year old house with a swimming pool. That is unusual.......

We had a pond if that counts Bernardgreen! However that's all gone now. It wasn't exactly Hyde park serpentine lake though.
