Hello all i have just built a pc

Specs i9 9900k
Msi carbon pro board
32gb 3200mhz ram
Nvme 1 tb
Ssd 1tb
850 Corsair psu
Cpu watercooler corsair ml360r

No gpu in system currently

I have tried to install windows 10 via flash drive setting it to boot priority, but the screen keeps freezing at different points and then i
hear the cpu fans ramping up and i know it's crashed at that point

Cpu temp never goes above 34 and mobo 38

Sometimes it freezes instant other times i can get halfway through installing windows then it freezes then i need to turn it off again

I removed a working ssd from another system with windows already installed and i can sometimes get to desktop....but again just freezes

I have tried with mouse only then keyboard only to no avail

I'm not 100% but when i enter bios i don't think it has froze once even after sitting in bios or more than 20 mins

Any help appreciated, thanks.

It is not likely to be heat, modern CPUs throttle down instead of crashing and can take very high temps.

RAM is generally the most flaky component of a system. It has more potential for the timing to go wrong or not mesh with your components. Try dropping the timings down to a less aggressive setting in your machine or find some cheaper slower RAM to test with. Also try using fewer sticks.

Strip out as many non vital components as possible for now.

Stating the obvious but if you've over locked then for now at least return it to stock settings or underclock.

Hi, thanks for the reply...it ended up being the bios needing updated, can't believe it stopped the pc working but it's all good now

Cheers
