New wall mount needs 75mm drill depth. Would you be concerned about this in a brick party wall?

I have the sanus vlt5 which supplies raw plugs that need 75mm drill depth. My old bracket only needed 60mm.
I'm not sure what the standard thickness of party walls is, I have a 1970s terraced house with absolutely terrible sound insulation from next door so I suspect they are thin walls.

it would be a bit embrrassing if you went through!

still the neighbour would have a handy coat hook

Yeah exactly, I'm thinking of just going up to Screwfix and buying shorter fixings. Anybody know the name of the fixing type that's best for wall mounts on a brick wall? TV weighs just under 20kg

if you could get your neighbour to fit a mount in the same place in their house you could drill straight through and use bolts.....

I'm going to pick up some m8 X 60mm anchor bolts, hopefully this should be enough. Not sure the drill depth needed for them but hopefully it's just 60mm

Might be an idea to go up into the loft and see if you can get a look at the party wall. The bond patten should give you a pretty good idea if it's single or double thickness.

A brick is about 100mm wide, so in a single thickness wall a 75mm hole would be about three quarters of the way through, in a double thickness wall it would be less.

it depends on the weight of your TV...
I would use shorter fixing but apply some no-more-nail to the bracket to give the bracket extra "stick"

I would very much doubt your party wall is 1 brick thick. 75mm will be fine, or get something slightly shorter if worried.

the instructions probably include the thickness of the plaster in that number.
