NI Protocol - Windsor Framework

I think it's more towards USA than us. We just happen to be in the pocket of the usa. But we need to be, especially now

Lucky for the Ukraine than

Agreed it’s painful for you ? But With out the military clout of the USA Western Europe don’t amount to a bag of beans and the Ukraine would be down the collective toilet

The EU land border is between Ulster and the Irish Republic, so therefor that is where any customs posts should be.
All this crap about non EU goods leaking into EU territory is just nonsense.
The EU has 1000's of miles of land border with other non EU states but it doesn't demand the right to interfere in the internal affairs of those states.
you are forgetting that it is us that wanted borders, not the EU. It was working on before brexit.

we wanted CONTROL of OUR BORDERS.

why do brexiters keep blaming others

exactly the point if you think about it.

Correct, the DUP don't want a hard border.
It is the EU who are demanding border checks, if they are concerned about non EU goods leaking into their own territory, then they can erect border controls on their own territory.
That is how the system works in most other countries.
but you did want a border if you wanted brexit

Double standards and not accepting facts

That's still a hard border. It doesn't matter which side of the line it is on.

They want to have their cake and eat it, and also eat the EUs cake.
You seem a bit confused.
Neither the DUP or the British government is advocating a hard border.
It is the Irish Government and the EU and who want their slice of the UK cake.

You know a hard border is unacceptable for implementing the GFA - and the circle had to be squared somehow to accomodate Brexit. How else would this deal work?

All Sovereign nations have borders.
Would any part of England have accepted an EU border on its territory after Brexit.
We had borders when we were in the EU. They worked well.

We had brexit to "take control of our borders". No matter how you twist, this is a direct result of brexit. Our making, our responsibility..

Don't blame others. WE wanted the borders

Appeasement hasn't worked.

Time for some tough love.
Appeasement of the EU and the IRA has certainly worked.
There is only so much to be gained from scapegoating the Unionists for the failure of successive governments to face down threats from the EU and the Irish Republic.

Since when is Northern Ireland a 'sovereign nation'?
Ulster is traditionally a province of Ireland and Northern Ireland only exists as part of the United Kingdom.
You're clutching at a strawman, Vinty, old sock.

Since when is Northern Ireland a 'sovereign nation'?
I was referring to the sovereignty of the UK.
Scotland, Wales and England are not sovereign nations either, didn't you know that.

Any alleged concessions by the EU are due to their need for British support for the war in Ukraine.
The EU have already admitted that.
Well, every cloud has a silver lining.
You can of course point us to the exact link to that claim?

And I doubt that the families of the tens of thousands dead of soldiers and civilians would agree with your callous 'every cloud has a silver lining' quip!
