Any one had a go at home nickle or copper plating ,want some small bike bits cleaning then plating seen several kits advertised any body any experiance on cleaning plating ?

It may be worth perusing the Classic Bike magazine services.....home plating is terribly thin, but of course you can speed the process up by preparing the bits yourself, by having them glass bead or nut kernel cleaned and then rubbed down with wet and dry paper.
John :)

I've done lots of home anodising with very good & repeatable results.

By far the biggest help I got was from the Caswell help forums : https://forum.caswellplating.com/

I'd say stay away from kits & assemble your own setup unless it's just 1 or 2 items you need to plate, they are seldom VFM & mostly include ****e chemicals.
