An old Goodman GPS164R music centre.

Its lost the sound on one of the speakers. When I swapped the speaker leads inside the case around, the other speaker worked so evidently the channel on the PCB is the culprit.

Any suggestion on the electronics know-how front how to get the audio channel back to life?

It's probably the capacitors on the amplifier output stage. Look for swollen caps. Do a Google image search for "bad caps". Use a hot air source such as a hairdryer to heat the caps. Any that are intermittent can be coaxed back in to life (temporarily only) to help you with troubleshooting.

If this or any other reply was helpful to you, then please do the decent thing and click the T-H-A-N-K-S button. It appears when you hover the mouse pointer near the Quote Multi-quote buttons. This is the proper way to show your thanks for the time and help someone gave you.
