No.

Not as easy or as cheap as it was before.

You didn't even have to think about it. You do now
And they're all time and geographically limited.
A bu99er if you forget to cancel it, or are still out of UK, and you need to continue with it.
And their reviews are not good.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!

LYCA UK THE WORST SERVICE IN UK! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Heck of a pain trying to sort out problems from abroad.

✔ Lyca Mobile include EU roaming on all plans

Lots of UK networks have removed inclusive EU roaming from their plans, but Lyca Mobile aren’t one of them. That means you can use your regular mins, texts and data in these 30 EU/EEA countries at no added cost.
But your data usage will be limited while you’re abroad. Your data limit depends on the size of your plan.
If you go over that you’ll have to top up with credit and pay for extra data at these rates. And to roam beyond the EU you’ll have to pay for your usage at their international rates (check your destination here).
In all, it’s great that Lyca Mobile still let you use your plan abroad at no added cost. But their scheme is more suited for short trips to the EU as their data limits can become restrictive on longer journeys.

And thats in a nutshell then, isn’t it? Anyone reading the title of this thread could easily be misled, couldn’t they?

Getting around EU roaming problems - a piece of pìss!
their scheme is more suited for short trips to the EU as their data limits can become restrictive on longer journeys.
Fine for the annual fortnight in Spain. But naff for anything longer.
The best option now for longer trips is to switch off your UK mobile and buy a local EU one.
Or, if you can, change your SIM card.

I'm not asking for any personal detail. You think telling me what network you are on and how much data you are getting is personal detail? You think that will identify you? Pathetic.

Do you think telling us what you are paying for a Kw of electricity is also 'personal stuff’? What about price per litre of fuel? Loaf of bread?
An accumulation of small but insignificant pieces of information can be accumulated to identify individuals
And you do like to collect small and insignificant pieces of information, snoopy.
However, non-sensitive information, although not delicate, is linkable. This means that non-sensitive data, when used with other personal linkable information, can reveal the identity of an individual.
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/personally-identifiable-information-pii.asp

And you've demonstrated numerous times, not only with me but others also, that when you have a small piece of information, which you think is accurate, you use it time and time again, in an effort to harm the individual.

You even go to great lengths to extract additional information whenever possible.
What is your job? Where is your local supermarket? Are your relatives working? Are they in UK? etc, etc.

In all fairness, you did this for a job.

"Mugs" like me don't duck and dive with this sort of thing, the way you do. We just don't know enough.

I dare say you could laugh at my contract, and go into all sorts of detail about how, if only I was willing to swap every next Tuesday when a flock of starlings was in aquarius, I could get the Moon on a stick.

I just wanna pay what I'm happy to pay, and not have to think about it.

I now do not know if / how much I would have to stump up, when I or my kids leave blighty. I didn't have to think about such stuff before.
I gave you a 'like', not so much for what you said, more for the way you said it.

Yeah, I suppose you’re right. I mean, if anyone found out what airtime provider you used, how much you paid and how many minutes you had, you’d be very easy to track down, wouldn’t you, Jim?
Add it all in to other little snippets like location, local MP, car detail and pictures etc and soon know a lot about somebody if you have that interest.

You do appear to have that interest.

The annual fortnight in Spain was what everyone was on about - not a travelling EU salesman spending three months abroad at a time. In fact, you never could permanently roam in the EU at any time in the past with a U.K. mobile. It was limited so you could have a couple of months roaming annd unless you came back to your home network for at least a month, your roaming would be deactivated.

Don't pretend to know more than me about this - with an interest in mobile usage abroad as well as a property abroad, I checked everything. Regularly. Local sims are shìt unless you just want to phone local numbers. It will cost a fortune to call back to the U.K. as well as costing others a fortune to call you on your EU mobile number. Stop talking out of your arris.

It's an insignificant or non-sensitive piece of information that scammers, etc use, along with other insignificant pieces of information, accumulated together, to target people.

But the real concerning issue is when you have such an insignificant piece of information, irrespective if it's accurate or not, you weaponise it, and repeat it ad nauseum to ensure that it is as widely publicised as possible.
You do it to try to cause as much harm and distress as possible.
What is worse, you try to increase your knowledge of other member's personal details by asking them irrelevant questions, which you ensure them, are harmless.
Evidently any snippet of personal data that you have about others is never harmless, snoopy. You'll publicise it at every oportunity.

13) NEVER post any other member's personal details or information which may be used for identification.

The accuracy of the information is irrelevant. In your case it's obviously the intention to try to cause harm or distress.
You do it because of your vendetta attitude.

I don't suppose you've ever given any thought to the danger of publishing other's reg plates and posting their locations.

It might not bother you, you keep a weapon handy in case it's needed. (Which you shouldn't have posted on social media)
You're either naturally a snooper, or incredibly niaive. And with your vendetta atttitude, that's quite worrying.

Let's hope none of us experience a (strange) series of locks being superglued.

I assure you that the resrtrictions/limits/costs etc have become far more onerous since Brexit despite your potestations.

Yes since Brexit phone calls and data is expensive, tiresome and difficult.
Now you have to try to limit the cost. That wasn't necessary pre-Brexit.

Any chance you can tell us the harm and distress caused to you by calling you Jim? Give us a number out of ten with one being no distress and ten being suicidal.
I object to being called by a different real name than my actual name. It's downright disrespectful.
It's like calling someone a liar each time you use the wrong name, as though you don't believe what they tell you is their name.
Accusations of different nom de plumes are of no consequence. But assigning someone a different name to their real name is rude. But it is expected from you. But it's still disrespectful, snoopy.

When it’s in the public domain, no.
Their location is only in the public domain when you post it.
Sure the address of the reg plate might be easily obtainable. But the locality of the actual vehicle is the kind of inforrmation that scammers, phishers, etc (and abusers) can and will exploit.

At least you haven't found out my real name.

Why do you stalk people in here anyway ?
He uses that information to weaponise against others, especially when his argument is fallible or failing.
He's demonstrated that on numerous occasions.

And this wasn't the case before?

Are you aware of the cost to call a uk mobile in Europe or vice versa from a UK phone on "normal contract"

"Calls to UK/EU are 149p/min to send or receive. Picture messages 55p and texts 40p. Data is £5/MB."

Don't worry I didn't incur any of this, I have a system that works for me (frequent traveller to EU), but don't talk out of your arris

For someone who professes to have only been on here under one name only for just 6 months, you sure seem to know a lot about me. If you went on Mastermind, would 'Motties posts from 2017 onwards' be your specialist subject?
