Hi.
For some reason I'm not getting notifications on threads that I'm watching or threads that I've started.
I've looked at my 'Alert Preferences' and everything seems to be in order.
What am I missing?

Thanks all.

I noticed the same problem some time ago. I've learnt to go into new posts, and scan for the ones that have been updated, but not notified. It's annoying, but manageable.

Thanks, I'm glad I'm not the only one!!
Is it still an issue for you?
I know it's manageable ............................ but it's not right though.

I agree, but I noticed the site has no wish to update or improve itself; you should be able to see who's left thanks etc just by hovering over the icon.

Is this still occurring for you? There is no indication of a problem this end and notifications are being sent out (I receive them myself). Are you definitely clicking to receive emails and alerts? The alerts themselves appear when you're on DIYnot at the top right hand side. Do you get alerts about replies when you're on DIYnot itself?

As I said in my earlier post, this happens to me as well. I've learnt to keep an eye on new posts, and check for the one's that haven't alerted me to new posts. On the point of alerts, the new ones come up in pink, but as soon as you click on the first one, they all go blue, and it would be nice if they stayed pink until you click on them. In windows, it's common for you to be able to press the return/enter key to action the option in blue, but that doesn't work on this site.

Interesting, so to get this 100%, the alerts work (as in the ones shown on the RHS) but emails don't or both don't work?

I know what you mean, you can get a full list here: https://www.diynot.com/diy/account/alerts, but it doesn't highlight them any differently but it does make the timings a bit clearer.

Not sure what you mean by this, as in pressing enter/return to submit the post?

No, the alerts shon on the RHS don't show all the replies. It's only when you go into new posts, that you realise that there have been replies that you haven't been alerted to.

That's helpful if you don't deal with all the alerts in your current session, but it's then a PITA if you've got more than one to deal with in a subsequent session. If the undealt with one stayed highlited, then there'd be an "undealt with alerts" option available from the RH section.

I've just realised the contradiction on this one. If you are typing, then the enter/return key is still being used for typing fuctions, so the blued out "Post reply" box won't respond accordingly. It's a windows fucntion that a lot of people aren't aware of, but you don't need to move the cursor over to a blued out box to get it to work, just pressing enter will get it to work. The programmers obviously know about it though, as they've tried to implement it, but it doesn't work properly.
