Old Conservatives don't understand

Rather than revoke the parking, which the struggling businesses have objected to, they installed "art".
"Temporary wooden planters were installed into Leatherhead High Street during the Covid pandemic to help with social distancing and to enable businesses to utilise the space for outdoor seating. Over the subsequent few years, these temporary structures came to the end of their lifespan and, together with the evolving use of outdoor spaces post-Covid, there were growing calls for them to be replaced with more robust alternatives."
and they will need to be disposed of or found new homes,
"The number of planters will be reduced by approximately one third, along with adjustments in the positioning of those that remain. Planters not retained on the High Street will be redeployed elsewhere in the town. Considerations such as adjacent premises, protection of tables and chairs, and facilitation of access and deliveries will be taken into account to create more space, align better with shop entrances, and release areas intended for deliveries."

James Daly, the Conservative MP for Bury North, has written to Greater Manchester Police to demand an investigation after Ms Rayner appeared to give two different addresses in official documents.
She bought in 2007 and sold in 2015

James Daly is asking Manchester police to investigate Rayner following the rules

And the sight-impaired and less able, only previously went about their way when the cars weren't permitted to park?
cars are still permitted to park

Not very smart, huh?

Perhaps they might have popped down to the planning department, had a look on the GIS map, then worked out the size of the planters and thought... hmm if we replace the planters with those that are 3X bigger and 2-3 times as many, might it make the place look like some northern Ireland street road block during the troubles? or since social distancing rules are revoked maybe we don't need them at all?

As they say in business - a £1 spent in design is worth £100 fixing it post production.

Fundamentally, the problem is - councils are run by councillors and they have no particular expertise in the areas they have responsibilities.

Hence the argument that councils are run by idiots. (noting that nobody said all, but nor did they say some). My view - it's part of the model. Votes get you in power, not skillset.

Some may be, some may be perfectly suited to the job. Unless you know what they all do you are talking nonsense.

So, this was "better"?

seems like this bunch do have expertise in the areas they have responsibilites

chief executive: master's degree in economics and a further master's degree in management practice.
Director of public health Justin Varney: used to be a GP
strategic director of housing: management accountant with experience in private sector
director of HR: law graduate with a career in HR in private and public sector

Hence the argument that councils are run by idiots. (noting that nobody said all, but nor did they say some). My view - it's part of the model.
above proves otherwise, maybe you have some examples where councils employ senior staff without relevant experience

Unfortunately you are repeating lazy tropes without supporting evidence
