Opening attachments

My Outlook Express will not let me open any attachments for some reason.
If I click on them a message comes up saying OE has removed unsafe attachments.
Is there anything I can do to reset it so I can get access

As you said "OE has removed unsafe attachments " then no you can not open what is not there.

I shouln't think it has removed ALL attachments, just the dodgy ones, ask a friend to send you an email with attachment, see what happens

This is the default security level for OE. It hasn't removed anything, only access to them.

Click on Tools in the menu bar and then select Options. Now click on the Security tab. Uncheck the box that says 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'. Click Apply.

You should now be able to open the attachments normally.

I have unchecked the box and so hopefully will be able to receive attachments.
