Hi I have a kitchen wall I want to make break in to the back room ,this is brick ,I've been up stairs and all the walls are studed but down stairs are brick ,can I make this opening without useing acrows Thanks

You will need to provide some photos, and also work out which way the joists run. Joists run at 90 degrees, to the floorboards.

As above. Look to see if the walls are supporting floor joists etc.

As above. Look to see if the walls are supporting floor joists etc.

..and how long those joists are - they may be joined over the wall, or indeed need the support of the wall, even if not joined.
