Hello, just wanted an opinion on my Peugeot 308sw (2008). Have had it for about 3 years now and recently the engine light popped on. It's the first time I've really looked under the hood at anything other than the screenwash and dips tick levels as I'm quite a novice when it comes to cars.

The second yellow circled pipe keeps coming away and I believe letting all the fumes in which is setting off the sensor. Have tried tightening it back on but always comes lose. I also noticed the first yellow circled pipe is just randomly taped up! Is it worth keeping this car or going for something else as I can't be doing with expensive repairs if it's a dud

No need to scrap your DV6.......I'd guess the right hand pipe is split, as the jubilee clip should stop it popping off.
The other pipe is heading for the intercooler and I'd look for a new one......or some better tape!
John :)

Right hand pipe is the air inlet to the turbo, I think. it shouldn't be under any pressure. Just needs putting on to the middle of the turbo properly. Left hand pipe is from the turbo outlet to the intercooler. That SHOULD be under pressure when you open the throttle.

For the life of me, I can't see why the air inlet to the turbo pops off.......the hoses are nicely moulded and fit well
Both hoses at the intercooler bulge well when the engine is revved!
John :)

I would guess there is something under it stopping it from sitting correctly. Shouldn't need much to position it and secure it correctly

Could there perhaps be a lot of engine movement, causing it to be pulled away, maybe a failing engine support, or dog-bone?

Thars what I was thinking, it's come away about 3 times now but have finally been able to get one person to push it in whilst I secured it with the jubilee clip and it's pretty secure now. Weirdly it has only ever occurred when the air con is on max..
