OT? Satellaite reception in France

We want to get the free-to-air UK satellite channels at a house about 30kms north of Bordeaux. (Lat 45.37, Lon -0.44)

We have a redundant Sky dish and a free-to-air tuner, both of which have worked well enough in Ireland.

I suspect that we'll need a bigger dish that the oval 74 by 60 cm one that we have. It has been suggested that we'll need at least a 1.1 metre dish that far south.

Also, I understand that the Astra 28.2 footprint was changed in February 2014 and may be less good outside the UK.

Ideas, comments & experiences please so that we can buy the most appropriate kit and take it there at the end of April.

I subscribe to the Torrevieja.co.uk forum, and down there, at 38°N 0.5°E the general consensus is that a 1.4 dish is the minimum. Where you are, 7° further north, you just might be lucky with a 1.1 dish. By all accounts. the aim should be 28.2°E for the Astra satellite

I can now answer my own question.
My old Sky dish works well. Oval-shaped 74cms by 60coms.
Gor some help from local tradesman since the footprint from Astra 28.2 seems very narrow indeed.
