overflow heating systems

Once my heating system is on for a while - the overflow start spliing out-of the house.

I always thought this was agood thing....bu I've overhead people say that this is a problem of the heating system.

I live in a new-build house , 4 years old.

Could someone say if this a problem or is is normal behaviour ?

If it is a problem is it a big job to fix - how many hours of a plumbers job or gas-engineers job to fix it ?

you can easily fix this yourself.
in the loft you,ll see a small expansion tank. inside is a plastic ball fixed on a metal arm.
carefully bend the metal arm a little so that the ball sits slightly lower down in the tank.
watch the water refill.
if it doesn,t refill up to the overflow pipe you,ve done it right.
beware though that the level in the tank isn,t too low as this can allow air to enter the system.1/2" under the overflow is fine.
if that doesn,t cure it inspect the ball in the tank for holes as this will cause your problem too.
p.s . if anyone is wondering why i keep calling it a ball,they won,t let me type it,s proper name.never mind
