I have the spec of my padstones from my SE - but he has gone AWOL and I am unable to clarify with him what exactly he means.
This is a single RSJ, with top plate, that will be supporting an old, standard brick cavity wall (approx. 300mm wide).
The structural calcs refer to "Padstone 1 & 2" - which I assume means there is one single stone at each end.
He has simply written - "USE MIN 300 LONG x (275)(200ACT) x 215 HIGH MASS CONC"
What on earth does that mean? I cannot see any padstones for sale that meet that size.
Is he suggesting the 300mm long dimension would sit across the cavity, or two separate stones at each end, one sat on each leaf of the cavity wall? What does 275 200act mean???
Thanks in advance.
