Hi,

I posted this in the plastering and rendering section the other day, but realised it's more of a paint question.

I got a guy in about 3 weeks ago to apply some Fine Texture K Rend to some new blockwork seating I've had built.

He did a K Rend undercoat one day, which looked neat, then he came back the next day and did the top coat but I don't think he did a very good job (beading is very visible, texture is patchy and K Rend particles are still coming off three weeks later even though I've been brushing it with a stiff brush occasionally as he suggested).

We've now had decking fitted around the seat which makes it tricky to completely re-render without damaging the deck.

I'm looking for a solution to the crumbling, patchy texture and visible beading. My plan at the moment is to coat with Sandtex stabilising solution, then a coat or two of paint like Johnstone's Silicone Masonry painthttp://www.johnstonestrade.com/products/product-display/silicone-masonry

Does anyone have any other recommendations?
