Hi

I just completed the first Topcoat on my recently completed MDF entertainment unit and the graige-ish kind of colour turned out to be bloody pink, sort of a pale cooked salmon pink. It's there is rule of thumb as to what colours would easily go over this, obviously not too dark?

Thanks

I would just sand down and put a base coat of white over it.

Blup

White is cheapest, but if you ever need to kill a strong colour or hide a pattern, use grey.

You can paint over a pale colour with a similar or stronger one easily.

you could always stick posters of your favourite boybands over it.:p

If I tried with a similar, darker colour should I complete this pinkish coat or just sand and paint. Would the pink affect the final colour?

Thanks

You could try a terracotta colour, which the pink undercoat won't affect. If you don't like that colour then pick one you like that's darker and go for it. Always sand the undercoat lightly before applying a top coat. Boybands optional.

A similar, darker colour will cover it.

To reduce patchiness, you want the whole object to be the same colour and absorbency all over before your topcoat.
