PC game Petz 5 file issue (fixed)

I'm unable to install this game on two PCs with Gigabyte GA_K8VM800MNF m/boards, one with an Athlon 64 3200+, the other Semperon 643000+.

Both PCs have 32bit Win XP installed

The problem being that the install process is unable to process a file called

Petz 5 rez.dll



The strange thing is that I've also got a P4 3GHz PC with 32bit Win XP installed and Petz has installed and runs with no problem at all.

Any ideas?

Can you see the rez.dll file on the CD, or copy it from the file on the other computer where it is installed.

Manually copy it into the installation directory.

Has sometimes worked for me with dodgy installers, I am not software expert however, so over to someone else.

I had suspected that it may have been a failed registry entry as the file was present on both machines but stated as not being present when trying to launch the game.

However when I did a search on the P4 machine, there's actually two files called

petz 5 rez.dll

in separate directories.


I took copies of both files and pasted over into the respective directories and the game started up straight away.


Why would this happen on 64 bit PCs and not 32 bit?
