Hi everyone

Recently sanded back our pine floorboards and got a beautiful look, however once we applied Osmo Polyx Raw it all went a bit wrong - it left a white sheen.

Have since read you should ignore their advice and not just leave it but buff it and remove excess to avoid this happening - so we have sanded back will apply this way next time.

however, I’m a bit concerned they are going to go orange. This is not what we want.

So, can anyone advise what might be better to use on our boards (see attached)? We want them to look as light and Matt as possible - not wet or orange.

have heard Bona might be good but any advice appreciated? Or should we use a tiny like Osmo Polyx Honey?

thanks

You will hate me for saying this, but you have to accept thay all wood goes more yellow and darkens to an extent over time when exposed to UV light. Modern water-based lacquers tend to be better than oil-based products in terms of not yellowing as well.

Orange hue is natural for pine , you would need a light oak or similar finish to avoid. As J&K stated timber will change colour with age .

its worth toning it one or two shades lighter than you want it as after around 2 years it will tone down a bit to be an antique pine colour but now with a stain on top
