Hi,

I am looking to restore my Victorian pine floor with aged pine slivers.

Unfortunately there aren't any gaps between some of the planks while others have very noticable and ugly looking gaps I am therefore wondering if it's going to look okay if there are pine slivers between some floorboards but not all.

Has anyone done this? Does that look okay or is it better not to do it at all in that case?

Thanks,

Anna

Don’t quote me but I believe that a mate of mine used papier mache to fill the gaps. He’s sold up and moved now.

I personally prefer the natural gaps between old floorboards.
But it's a matter of taste.

My mate’s ones were on the ground floor of a conservation area and he suffered from massive draughts through the floor
I agree that they can look better if left but they can be a pain sometimes
