Hi all,

I have a short external plastic pipe that comes out of my combi boiler.
See photo here... https://i.ibb.co/b2MJG40/IMG-5186.jpg

When I first moved in about 2 years ago I put a cheap length of pipe insulation on the pipe.
It cost me less than a quid from Toolstation as the pipe is under a metre long.
I live down south so winters dont get too cold.

The problem is that over the years the insulation has turned to dust.
There was hardly anything left of it when I cut the zip ties off yesterday.
It can't have been made for outside use.
And I'm struggling to find a cheap alternative in high street shops that is specifically for external use?

I'm thinking just put another cheap one on there until it falls apart again.
But I don't want to keep having to get up there on my ladder, and also it can't be good for the environment (not that I'm too fussed about that stuff but it doesn't seem right).

Am I missing some key words on my Google searches?

Cheers all!

It really should be upsized to 32mm to comply but if you're looking for an outdoor version, then it's armaflex toughcoat you want, PVC coated - excellent stuff. Or you buy normal stuff & paint it with an oil based paint.

no worries .... caught me napping :)

hate that when you start typing, get distracted, finish it off, hit post and then realise someone got in there before you :sneaky:, no delete post in here unfortunately.
