Thought I'd start this as a new thread, rather than hijack securespark's more cerebral 'Gay' one, where....

'gay' is the latest playground insult - just like 'spaz' used to be in my schooldays..

This got me thinking that Spaz kind of died out once Blue Peter gave the schoolchildren of the 70s 'Joey Deacon' (actually, his is an inspiring story if you read it, but that's not what we're here to discuss).

I also remember at my school, and growing up in general (down in Essex) that 'tw*t' was used fairly liberally just to mean a buffoon, and we were never corrected, but now it is seen as being quite rude. Same goes for d*ldo, which we just used to mean idiot, and again, no parents ever set us straight.

Having said that, I know a few people that were told off for using Joey - My friend Neil even got slapped by his Mum for using it.

Anyone else got any insults from back then .....?

**** (still used by Moz) and pimp. Didn't know what one was but just meant idiot.

Is **** "Mongol?"

He bats for the other side. He has too much air in his nike's
Jiff. lemon. Words I use in private never to insult or hurt the feelings of another person.

As I see it, not in the way Moz is using it.....maybe he can clarify?

I thought he meant mongrel meaning someone who is a multinick and uses other user names.

No. It means Mongol. Always has and always will.

I always took Moz's webmong to be a bit like a Joey - Especially when used in the phrase 'Joey = Webmong'.

But trying to find a definition of it, tried googling and there is a user on another DIY site called webmong, so maybe the implication is that Moz thinks our Joe-90 is this other site's webmong.

I dunno'. All too complicated for me, this multi-nic crackerjack black-hat site stuff......

Anyone remember using the word "fizog"? I seem to remember it was used in reference to someone's face. Never heard it for years though.

Moz has confirmed in the past that a Webmong refers to Down Syndrome.

Maybe he finds it amusing?

It's a abbreviation of physiognomy which means your face. I still use it!!

Is that true ? I don't know this for certain, but I assumed it was a corruption of 'visage' which is french for face....

EDIT: But you're right:

phizog Noun. Face. Derived from physiognomy. Includes a number of variations in spelling phizzog, vissog, fizzog, physog, and phyzog.

Sometimes I'm just too poncy for my own good......
