Did you see the program?

Suicide, marriage break ups and imprisonment for fraud and theft.

Utter disgrace.

Will heads roll?

Didn't see the programme but I know quite a few suffered because the computing system was a failure. Despite court cases and appeals nothing was done for years and those 'guilty' of not attending to the problem have walked scot free.

The fact that the Post Office have the power to prosecute their own staff without the involvement of police or CPS is a scandal.

Everyone has the power to prosecute without involving the police or CPS. Remember Marcus Ball attempted to prosecute Boris Johnson. It does get expensive if you DIY it.

The Horizon computer program was flawed.

It took 15? Years to get the authorities to admit the injustices post masters endured were the fault of the post office.

Imagine how those in charge of a cashless society would try to cover up system errors of human errors.

Fujitsu & the PO knew the system was flawed virtually from the off.

Disgusting.

One reason I was extremely opposed to ID cards. You just can't trust the state with IT. Imagine all your ID consolidated in to one "tamper proof" ID system. Then someone takes your ID and you can't get it back.

Not only that, but the ID system database was intended to be linked to every government department.

So if the computer (or government) says 'no' then you can 'officially' not exist!

Then try and live your life!

I was listening to it on the Vine show today. It must have been absolutely awful for those that lost their living, their reputation and were wrongly sentenced to a spell in prison. I hope they will be well compensated and that those in charge are held to account.

The CEO (Paula Vennells) and other executives kept on getting massive bonuses throughout.

The CEO even got a CBE (for services to the PO), and is now Chair at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
(let's hope she's not involved in choosing any IT projects there!)

There will probably be a lengthy inquiry with a few hand picked 'officials' (with their heads in the trough) who will come up with a pre-ordained version of events and no heads will roll.

It also helps the upcoming 'whitewash' that the former CEO has also been appointed as a 'Non-Executive Board Member for the Cabinet Office'!

There should be a public inquiry and prosecutions should follow.
Innocent people have had their lives completly ruined,
This scandal continued for years, those in charge of the post office knew the truth but allowed people to suffer regardless.
