Hi guys
Hoping someone can help please. I've just moved in to a flat tenancy in the UK. The boiler is a Potterton Suprima 40litre in the kitchen and we have a Systemate 2000 in the cupboard down the hall. There is a pin timer on the systemate and a thermostat in the hallway on the wall. There is no timer for hot water with this systemate.
The heating is set to the off position on the pin timer and the thermostat is off at the wall. The boiler is on.
The hot water seems to be working fine (it wasnt.. we have been having issues that were put down to the systemate twice when we moved in)
My question is about the boiling firing up and what should be normal.
Currently it's not doing anything and has a solid orange light on the boiler (the only controls on this boiler are a round light indicator, a knob that turns from min to max and a pressure gauge to the left of the boiler.. that's it)
Its solid orange right now whilst the boiler is not doing anything. Is that normal or should it always be solid green? Even if not firing? I always view orange and red lights as an indicator that something isn't working.
Also at times when nothing is being used (we are sat here watching TV doing nothing and the heating is off) it will fire up and down every few minutes and will go from solid green light to flashing green to flashing green and orange and then sold orange and you can here clicking.
Last night around midnight it was firing up and down every few minutes for half an hour with the same light combinations. Right now its solid orange.
I'm not used to these devices so would really appreciate some help before I start calling the lettings agency again.
Oh and also the pressure gauge looks fine its between 1 and 2 which the gas guy said is where it should be.
