My PC has been set to go to 'standby' in 10mins, and 'hibernate' in 20mins. Been like this for many months, but now has ceased to standby or hibernate at all. I cannot figure out why, have checked the settings. Any advice much appreciated, thank you.

i advise you never let your computer go into hibernate mode.
anyway, have you tried changing the settings, saving them restarting, then changing them back?

Monsterminty, thanks for reply, but why should I not use hibernate mode? I thought it was common practice. Will change settings though, see if it works.

i used to get a lot of problems with computers stuck in hibernate mode, but if it works for you - like the above says - then thats cool.
