Hi
I have ceramic tiles floor to ceiling throughout my kitchen and bathroom. I have started to remove them bit by bit and whilst the tiles are coming off pretty easily, the adhesive is remaining stuck firmly to the plaster underneath.
Eventually I want to prep the walls for painting (and re-tiling in the crucial areas). Will it be possible to leave the old tile adhesive in place and just skim a layer of plaster over the top, or will I have to chisel the adhesive off, have the base layer of plaster come off with it and start all over again?
Any advice gratefully received. This has to be a pretty common dilemma, yet I can't find any solid opinions anywhere.
Thanks!
