I'm wanting to buy primed MDF skirting boards but so far every company I've asked only primes the visible sides. Does anyone know of a supplier that will also prime the backs/underside?

I'm surprised this isn't done given that MDF should really be sealed, particularly if being used in areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Don't think the primer gives much of a seal. I'd say none tbh. Can't let rain or water get near it. It's just a naff acrylic primer and very chalky.
I denib it (fine sand) and prime myself with something better.
Just buy some mdf skirting and prime yourself prior to fitting.

MDF skirting board should normally be made using MR-MDF, so priming wouldn't achieve that much. AFAIK the primer is applied to speed up the process of painting on builds

and very chalky.

which is a very good reason not to pick lengths up in your car that has dark trim. Don't ask me how I know,,,,,

Thanks all for your replies. I'll just pick up some decent MR-MDF skirtings. I will still get the face primed though to speed up painting as JobandKnock mentioned.

Don't use mdf in bathrooms.
Use wood and treat it so to last a lifetime.
Unless you want to replace it every few years.
