Print said it has no ink

I've just brought some new ink for my printer and after 30 mins of how to figure out where the ink goes, it said its low on ink. How can it be low on ink if I've put some new ink in it?

Did I put it in wrong?

Did you buy ink cartridges or bottles? If cartridges and brought cheap perhaps that is why the price was so low however Im just guessing.

What printer? What cartridges?
When using compatible cartridges I have to hold a button so the low ink message is ignored.

Genuine ink? What is the make and model of the printer?

Printer cartridges have a chip on them which interfaces with the printer. If either interface is damaged, you can get this problem.

Replacing the cartridge is generally way to test this - the faulty cartridge can then be returned. The problem with this is that if the problem persists with a different cartridge, the issue must be with the printer, leaving you with two perfectly fine open cartridges - and a faulty printer!
