We all know printers are a con, right? The manufacturers try to sell us over-priced ink and tell us that if we use unbranded inks it will damage their equipment and invalidate any warranties.
Our Canon MX925 last night flashed up a B200 fault code, print head blocked.
So I remove the printhead and rested it in a shallow bath of IPA (not India Pale Ale!) overnight.
This morning I dabbed off the IPA left on the surface and left it to dry for 2 hours. Then I refitted it to the printer and reinstalled the cartridges. It ran through some cleaning cycles, then the same code flashed up again.
I went to the menu and set the machine to do a deep clean, which it duly completed and printed off a perfect inkjet pattern test print.
Good, I thought and tried copying something to see the result.
It chuntered away to itself for a bit then, guess what? B200 fault code!
Why? If the cleaning was successful and the test print perfect, why does it revert to the same fault code?
