Hi All

Just fitted my Pyronix Enforcer and all went well (well except a shock when i pulled the tamper wire out of the bell box whilst standing on my roof! anyway...)

I have a few questions

1. The Pet friendly PIR's seem to not flash very often at all, in fact I can walk from the front to the back of my house without it seemingly flashing at all, Is it working OK (when running the engineer tests they work fine and signal is good) and just not flashing or should I be concerned?

2. I have configured the SMS and have settings (triggers?) ...45.78. set. I seem to get 3 messages all the same when the alarm is triggered but at 50p a pop I could do with just 1, should I modify those settings or is it something to do with the retrys? (set to 1)

3. Anyway to dial down the frequency it calls the gateway, have seen mixed reviews on if this can be done or not? Calling twice a month seems a bit excessive.

4. I seem to be incapable of setting the alarm to let me open the front door and dial the code to the keypad with say a 10 second delay without it going off. Im sure its a simple one, the keyfobs work a treat but I don't always carry mine.

Any help will be greatly received, I'm really chuffed with the alarm and my installation so far with the exception of the issues above.

Pet sensors are less sensitive than standard sensor ?
What setting are the sensitivity jumpers on in the sensor high or low ?
Redial default is 3 ,double check in programming that it is saved as 1
Pyronix make it dial their server every month for revenue to maintain servers

Have you got a sensor in the hallway when you come through front door?
Is that sensor set for entry route ?
If not the sensor will go straight into alarm

Hi and Thank you for the reply.

I know that the pet sensors are less sensitive but should it be the case that I can walk a 7mtr hall way in full view of the sensor it and it not flash? Ill check the sensitivity tonight and confirm but that maybe the issue as you point out.

With regards to the redial, if it is set to 1 which I believe it is, could it be that I don't need all the 4 triggers set and maybe only 1?
Can I stop the server dial though, or change it to do something else?

Hmm, you may have nailed it, I think the door contact is set for Entry but maybe not the PIR, I can't remember how to set this up, do you happen to have the settings to hand at all?

Thanks again for the help, very much appreciated.

The panel puts any PIRs to sleep when the system is disarmed, so you will only see the LED come on when the system is set and during walk testing and diagnostic checking (signal strength etc), purely as a battery saving measure. I'd remove the pet lenses if you don't have any pets as they noticeably decrease the sensitivity of the PIR.

Can't comment on the SMS situation as it's not a feature we use, however I'd assume the reason it dials the server twice a month is to keep the SMS details up to date and check that it actually works? SMS is a notoriously unreliable form of monitoring so I wouldn't be too concerned about it dialling out every so often.

Do you have a PIR between the entry door and control panel? If so this needs to be set to Entry Route (or ER (Area FX)) if it's the first detector you trigger coming downstairs in the morning to start the entry timer. If not, check the contact is programmed as Final.

Both, thanks again for your help, Alarm now allows entry and I understand why they don't flash as often as i thought, the one on my landing still isn't great even on the walk test I find it hard to trigger so ill check the sensitivity inside it just incase. I do have pets so need to be careful but if it still doesn't work ill test a non pet lens one.

SMS still can't figure why it sends multiple so for now ill only configure ...4....8. and see if that improves, ive currently spent about £20 on this and the tests so need to figure it soon!

Thanks again for the help, very much appreciated.

In Set up Digi/SMS theres an option called use area accounts i think. If its on Yes then you will get a signal 4 times one for each area ABCD so change it to No and see if that helps. (The option is regardless to part sets BC&D)

I have changed this setting so thanks for your help. Haven't tested it yet to see if it works but worth a try! Thanks again for the help all!

I fitted the pet friendly version in my house. I used small wedges behind the sensors to make them aim a bit lower because I found they weren't sensitive enough at first. Tilting them down did the trick for me. Touch wood the cat hasn't set it off yet and I switch on the alarm every night.

Can you elaborate on this settings .....I can't find it and have the same issue

Excactky pls

The only setting I can see valid areas only as a setting. Where is area accounts ? Pls

Can someone explain this in eniglish layman. I've tested my alarms in that

I unlock the door & trigger the entry time And enter the hall thereafter walk into the lounge.

I want the alarm to blurt all the bells and whistles......clearly this is not the case at the moment.

Some sort of secondary timer triggers when I enter the lounge.

Lounge should be programmed as 06 Intruder. Exit modes should be programmed as Final Exit. How is it programmed at present?

Alarm responce > silent 1st alarm Never > Area A starts at Digi. or select Bells if Digi is not used but I dont think it makes a difference. Do you get an entry timer when opening front door? Exactly what happens when you go into lounge? Can you trigger full alarm on any other detectors?
