About twenty years ago, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, i watched a vox-pop where people were asked that question: "would you be prepared to give up liberty in place of extra security" and they all answered they would. I'm not sure some of them really understood the question. Anyhow, this is where we are today.

The EU has just passed a law in regard to the use of AI facial recognition and national governments are peeved the Brussels burgomeisters added a clause or two just as it passed legislative approval.
