Wanted to move my cooker/microwave which is quite heavy onto a shelf above microwave. It's quite large so would two batons hold the shelf ? Batons going where red is

Can you get a really good fixing into the wall, I.e direct into brickwork?
If so, heavy duty battens and a thick shelf material should sort it.....I don’t suppose a vertical peg leg would be possible?
John

You can get the proper microwave shelf brackets anywhere- screwfix toolstation, argos etc all much of a muchness but obviously need a good fixing into the wall.

I was actually thinking of putting airfryer, cooker and coffee machine on batons just above tiles with a white top to match units

my thoughts

in my opinion, a microwave at or above shoulder height will be awkward and possibly dangerous as your arms will be locked or near locked and only wrists giving you articulation
could you simulate the height there or elsewhere before committing??
i could off course be miles wrong but i just find hot food above elbow height a bad idea

The thing that looks like a big microwave (next to airfryer and coffee machine) also works as an oven and is heavierthan a microwave. The small microwave in pix in corner will go below as it takes up less space. What thickness of baton would u use to support the weight?

Using 120mm screws as baton is quite thick but thinking the shelf might be too long length ways. It's currently 900mm so make 600mm so just hangs over the microwave then put another small shelf to left extractor fan for air fryer (above mess) or stick with longer shelf? Just one screw in each baton at moment.

Excuse the mess.

Assuming it's a triangular shelve i would put a baton triangulated to around 1/3 in from each end to give support towards the floating foot otherwise the shelf will sag or alternatively a bracket on top to the side going up to support that edge and be out the way
