Hi All,
Just completing this ground floor extension and the next phase is to construct a garden terrace to access via these rear sliding doors. There building is approx 8m wide and terrace could go out by up to 4.5m where it meets the shrubbery in the background. Main issue is the drop of around 1 metre from the doors and then a further 40cm drop to the lawn about 2m from the doors. The extension and terrace proposal has already been through planning so no major issue from that point of view.
Looking to get recommendations for building up including appropriate foundation. Have considered a boundary wall and costing bulk infill with cheap demolition aggregate or alternatively block and beam with suitable support structure. Anyone got ideas on this or have links to similar work. Could a stepped level foundation be an option to save digging deeper at the house where drop is 1m (opposed to lawn at 1.4m)?
