Reading a server with tablet?

With my PC if I put this file://///MAXTOR/Public/Our Movies/ address into my browser it will show me the area on my server with all the movies. This is also found with my bluray player.

However on my wife's and father-in-laws tablets it reports not found and unless the devices can find the hard drive there is no way it can play movies on it.

Any ideas as to what is wrong. The tablets can play BBC Iplayer which is through the same internet connection.

Almost certainly because you have not set up computer sharing.

One is an Ipad the other Hubble from Tesco and since other devices can see the hard drive including the Bluray player then can't see it being settings on Hard Drive and as to computer having sharing set up yes is has with Serviio but what difference that would make I don't know as was not looking for stuff on PC I was looking for stuff on LAN hard drive.

Try the Maxtor IP address instead of name. Also make sure the tablet software can use network shares.
