Here goes…. Bike shed with opening roof and door.
Fitted a sensor connected to house alarm, and it decided to wake the street at 3am. ( hubby said it’s too sensitive - creepy crawlies) so purchased two magnetic reed switches.
Don’t really want to run another wire from front path through house to alarm panel… took hours for the one he fitted.

Want to know can he wire them in series -if yes could you draw me a nice picture please

At the moment red and black are pos & neg green and white go to zone 6 at panel. No anti tamper wired in in to the sensor.
Thank you for any help /advice.
lynn

Yes red being the two screws on the other contact …may easier with a junction box …a quality sensor in the shed would have ok …

have a Honeywell sensor DT-7225. Went off at 3am.hubby said maybe a spider ?

sure they haven’t made those for about 10 years ….did he turn the microwave down and seal the cable entry hole , spiders should be an issue with that detector

No hubby fitted it and doesn't understand how to turn microwaves down.
oh and trust me to buy one that’s almost obsolete ‍♀️

Will get the thing out and have a look.
thanks again,

I think you may have gathered we know nothing about alarms. Do these not need a pos + neg?

Both switches wired in seris, alarm won’t activate with either roof or door.
does hubby need to tell panel it has switches on zone 6 - or should it work thinking it still a sensor connected. ?

Zone should be closed circuit with both doors closed and go open when either door is opened. Probably got a broken reed switch in 1 of them

They both would be shorted if nothing is activating ….step one twist the green and white together at the shed ….set alarm , untwist the green and white …..alarm should activate ….

Thanks guys. He’s cooling off now, he cooked in the shed. Will test tomorrow
thank you
