Savings over 5 years. The BofE one interested me as the paper they linked to showed a gain in favour of HMG They were piddling amounts anyway compared with £1t. That's >£5t over 5 years.
150b extra / 5 = £30b.
30b/1t = 3%
I smell a rat. All for a growth level that may happen anyway as things are a bit more stable at the moment.
The financial sector contributed only about 0.4% of the 2.8% annual growth in the UK market economy between 1997 and 2007.
Sounds wonderful - bring it on but others aim to hopefully return to something more like the above. LOL I feel Labour could do it. I really do.

GDP took a 270 Billion hit in 2019 - before covid and soley due to Brexit... at rates of growth that will take us 11 years to regain to where we were. If you are wondering why we don't have any money ask Nigel ...

The tax cuts may get things back to where they were before the thresholds were frozen but over 5 years and not really enough money raised anyway,
NHS one more interesting. Compared £'s with how much extra Labour put in to get the waiting lists down which now are way more than they used to be. The £'s are a lot short on that basis.

Interesting that the DM is turning its big guns (highly paid propagandists/columnists) on far rage today. Having effectively promoted the reform agenda for years, the penny has dropped that they might annihilate the conservative party as we know it.
