Good morning!
Typical domino effect in progress in my kitchen. The old Lamona single oven is on the fritz, letting more heat out than it retains so we decide to buy a new one. Double oven and additional flexibility are the order of the day, and we opt for an AEG built under model. The fittings that come with it are great - self-explanatory and look robust. The issue i have is with the support for the cabinet housing that the oven sits inside.

The height of the oven support rails is at the bottom of the housing and so I will need to remove the plastic feet (probably front and back due to the depth of the oven).

So it's my intention to shore the fitting up by drilling several (many?) pilot holes and getting from good quality MDF screws. There is 50mm of MDF on either side to bind into and figured this would be enough.

However, should I also consider adding feet under the brackets one fitted? I'd have to bond them to the metal supports is the only issue.

Providing you have enough screws going into the decor panels (which go to the or) you should be OK removing the feet but the thing is, I've just looked at AEG built-under ovens and they are 595mm wide - so surely the old end panels of the original unit will have to come out as well, or is the space there 600mm wide?

The width is the external dimensions. The oven itself needs a maximum of 55cm and the gap between cabinets is 56cm so we've got plenty of space. According to the install chart it's a bit less (538mm):

In that case you are good to go. As long as you have 5mm "wiggle room" you can get an appliance in
I've just realised you are correct all along. The fittings are designed to sit in a 600-605 width spacing, with the vertical metal fittings closing that gap up. I tihnk this may be to ensure there's air circulation around the oven. So I've got two options
1. Fit as is and secure the bottom brackets to what's already there - probably use longer screws into the decor panels.
2. Remove the old end panels and fit as per instructions. The feet are no longer an issue although actually getting it out cleanly will take some work as the worktop is bonded to part of it.

I think option 1 is the only thing to do. I've slid the oven into place and there's plenty of wiggle room. But the way the marble worktop was originally cut, it is not braced at all apart from by the back of the old oven housing. I'd have to remove only part of the housing as a result to us the vertical brackets. Not sure it's worth all the faff?

Its 595 to fit space 600,
Air flow in in at bottom out at top/back, as long as the sides have a gap you aint got a problem.
I would be removing the feet from the cabinet & replace with mdf/ply to the floor,, or even just fix it the cabinet either side.
