removing door frame, and tidying up

I have removed an internal door between entry hall/porch and main hall to let in more light to the hall.
Now the door frame looks out of place, so I don't know whether it is best to remove the door frame entirely, and or just clad it, to tidy the area up.
any advice in general, or from those who have done the same, would be welcome

Personally, I’d leave it.
Taking it out would either need filling on a large scale or plastering, resulting in a plastered corners.
