i have just had a hardwood conservatory fitted and the wood was treated with a nice finish, however the plasterers have come in and plastered my walls and also covered alot of the wood.i've removed the bulk of the plaster by carefully scraping and brushing with a soft brush but it has still left plaster in the wood grain .anyone know of any 'miracle' solutions that won't damage the wood finish or have i just got to brush away forever until it all comes out? any advice much appreciated.

The trouble with brushing is you are just working it back into the grain, what you need is to force it out of the grain with some form of pressure like a steamer use downward strokes to allow gravity to move the plaster down the grain, if the steamer is used lightly and then you draw out the plaster by dabbing with a cloth you shouldn't damage the wood. Practice on an inconspicous piece first.
