Removing paint from exterior brick

You can get really evil chemicals that can be brushed on and then removed with a pressure washer. Unfortunately, they are sold in 25L containers and you are supposed to prove that you are competent to use them (like I said, they are evil, they will melt your skin).

The pressure washer will probably blow some of the pebble dash off.

There are safer paint removal systems such as Peel Away. They work with either oil based paints or waterbased paints depending on which version you buy. You normally apply a film over the product to top it evaporating too quickly.

Unless you are willing to spend a lot of time (and not achieving a perfect finish), I would recommend making good and choosing a more sympathetic colour.

Thank you.

Think it might be worth hiring someone who is competent dealing with the chemicals to do it properly.

Saw a house locally that was being blasted with a DOFF.

Not sure if that’s worth a hire?

Cheers

I once used my steam stripper to remove textured paint from the render on the outside of my home. To be honest I wasn't trying to remove it completely, I just wanted it flat enough to repaint with smooth masonry paint.

If you do hire a DOFF please do post back to let us know how you got on.

Good luck.
