I have a 7 foot high retaining wall built with breeze blocks, about 50 feet long.
Earth is banked up behind this wall to within about 1 foot of the top and in some places the cavity in the blocks has been filled with earth and rubble. There are no drain holes anywhere in the wall and in some places there is evidence of damp penetration.
The wall is unsightly and I would like to render it.
1) Is there a product / technique that can be used that would be unaffected by the damp?
2) Would you recommend drain holes?
3) Would capping the wall help?
Many thanks.
Stuart
