We’ve bought a new build

And due to the amount of remedial work and quality of paint work, considering re doing the house.

How much would you say it would cost DIY vs Labour

Most areas are in good condition, just needs the odd sanding, undercoat and paint.

Been looking at scrubbable matts as we have a young family

10lt Crown Clean Extreme, Stain Resistant, Scrubbable Matt White Emulsion Paint for Walls and Ceilings https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BRZSLDP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_G2Z2Fb8Y8HD3T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

And same for the gloss.

Any ideas/rough guesses?

DIY is cost plus tools.

Do you mean a time served painter and decorator (£150 a day depending on location) 4 bed, everything repainted, 5 or 6 days.

Or Eastern Europeans same job. 3 of them. For £120, 2 days tops.

You're children would probably do a better job with crayons and water colour. It's your choice. Pay the time served or wait for the divorce papers after the aftermath.

You're welcome.

This bit made me laugh.

And the OP saying how much would diy cost vs labour....................well Luke your time is free but would take bl00dy years with the wife nagging you to get it finished.

If house is occupied it will take longer, and if all woodwork, doors stairs etc i bet its nearer 12 days for a single painter, also depending on how much sanding/prep,will be at least 8 rooms plus hall/stairs/landing,i reckon labour only £2000 ish for a good finish.

Cheers

The £150 a day would be 13 days by the quote we’ve had.

It would be a time served painter/decorator.

We’ve got 11 rooms that will need doing

Does this sound about right?
