Repair 3rd storey wood wall, from inside?

Part of a stone building has a section of wall that is made from wood, the bottom part has rotted away. (day light coming through hole)

Its on a third floor, difficult to get to by a ladder from the outside because there is an extension below, so would require scafolding.
Can this be repaired from the inside? What can be done?

Block it with a towel until the scaffold goes up.

Its not just a quick fix to hold off the damage. I want to know what can be done to compleatly fix it.

I would be tempted to create a whole new door frame unless a pre made one would fit.
Presumably it was a high level agricultural type door?

personally i'd see if I could replace the lower half with stone but that's me.

the advantage of a new custom frame might be that the majority of work could be carried out indoors, and carefully handled so that it goes through the gap at an angle, and is pulled back in tight. even if you did it in two frames, one designed as an inner that exactly fits the outer frame.

So square up the hole with ext frame, create inner frame as a tight fit.
possibly add cladding to the int frame, with enough overlap to cover the ext frame when connected.
using suitable ropes and restraints, manoeuvre the inner outside, and manipulate it so that it is orientated correctly to be pulled back and plugged into the ext frame.
using screws join the inner to outer.
insulate and cover from inside
