Hi, I have an engineered maple floor, full glue down, with 150mm wide boards. Two boards have buckled in a little pyramid. They are at a doorway. Lifting the threshold it looks like the boards and glue have pulled the self levelling compound away from the floor. I have an offcut but not replacement boards and I tried to knock the boards out lengthways so I could clean and reglue, but they aren't moving.
Looking on the internet there seem to be some proprietary systems that are basically PVA glue. I was thinking of the following, any other suggestions welcomed.
1. Drill 6mm holes through each board into screed and plug with Fischer plugs.
2. Redrill with a counterbore bit.
3. Thin PVA glue 50/50 and inject around the area, get in as much glue as possible.
4. Screw boards down using 4mmx40mm wood screws and cover with plugs taken from offcut.
I was thinking of screws at a 300mm spacing on each board, offset between boards, so say 3 screws into each board for a total of 6. Any suggestions/recommendations please? I have plenty of SBR which is nice and thin so could use that instead.
