Repair cracks in ceiling edge

Hi,

I have lots of cracks in the ceiling edge that run above our kitchen window. Have previously tried to fill them in with polyfilla but they always crack again. Any recommendations for how to repair?
Will need to be able to paint over as both the ceiling and walls will need painted.
