Repair to external architrave

I am looking to repair the external architrave to my front door. Its my last attempt before ripping out and replacing with a composite (which I would really, rather not do) and im hoping that I can repair, rather than replace the architrave.

I have my wet rott hardner and epoxy exterior wood filler at the ready, but can anyone advise how I can best tackle the curves of the moulding when sanding down?

I have been looking at getting some drum sanding bits for my drill to get into the crevasses, but any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

Can I be the rain on your ideas, Sorry!

Given the condition of your Architraves [especially image 2] you may be better in totally replacing these architraves?? I think you will be chasing around for a considerable time to achieve a [really] not too good a finish after a lot of work should you attempt a repair on what you are faced with?

There are several WWW. sites where such Victorian "Type" architraves are available, give a bit of research you should be able to locate something that takes your fancy, if possible given the exposure it may be advisable to look @ hardwood?
