Hey folks, I’m in the Uk and looking to replace my Danfoss TP4700 with a new thermostat (still searching the similar model with less hassle to replace), the 6 actuators are broken so need to be replaced. The actuators are Giacomini R473 230V 2 wire normally closed actuators, it is difficult to order the same model in the UK, so I am thinking the buy a similar model to replace them. Before I go to find a plumber, wonder if I can change them by myself...

Thermostat: Danfoss 4700
Actuators : Giacomini R473 230V 2 wire normally closed actuators
Boiler: HIU boiler

1. For the replacement of Thermostat Danfoss 4700, Seems like The Honeywell T3 /T4 is the close model which I connect the existing two wires from Danfoss 4700 (photo below) to the Honeywell T3 A,B port. )

2. For the Giacomini R473 230V 2-wire normally closed actuators. It always keep in an open position (Indicator is lifted) even the thermostat and heater are OFF. Tested the valve and they are working fine and bounce back if I press down. For this actuator, It has the ring nut (photo below) to install it on top of the valve body and then assemble the actuator on the ring nut. Any suggestion to replace the similar 2 wired actuator? I tried those with screw version but not working, it seems need to buy the one with a ring nut and install it on the valve body.

3. If I can find the similar actuator with a ring nut, it has to be a 2 wired actuator. They are connect to the heating center and can I just simply connect the brown and blue wire as the original set up ? (Circled in picture below)

Thank you very much!

Google?

Any 2-wire manual or battery operated thermostat can replace that Danfoss (though TP4700 doesn't get found by Google; nor Danfoss 4700).

Actuators: https://underfloorparts.co.uk/produ...ing-thermal-actuator-r473-normal-closed-head/ seems to be the same part.

Though looking at your pics the nylon adapter ring has parted company with the actuator housing- is the red locking button broken or what? For all (three minimum?) to fail at once would be strange. You have checked volts etc,. when there's a call for heat I assume. As well as ensuring they are attached correctly so that they can operate the pin valve? The indicator(s) could be mechanically stuck up, do they move if pressed (relatively gently, of course).

You may need to enlist the help of a local underfloor heating specialist? Or take some of the bits to a suitable local supplier?

The wiring could use some improvement, single insulation shouldn't be visible outside the enclosure, each channel has 2 pairs of terminals for the actuators so there is no need to shove 2 wires into the same terminal etc...
