Hi

I have replaced my Potterton Ep2000 with the Hive module and everything is up and running except my existing Heatmiser room stat is overriding the Hive stat.

Does anybody know what steps I need to take to change the wiring in the Heatmiser stat so the Hive can control the CH.

Heatmiser Wiring picture attached.

Many thanks.

You need to find the opposite end of the cable from the Heatmiser thermostat and note where the wires are connected. Then remove all three wires. Once they are removed, where the wires that now go to A1 (brown wire) and A2 (green /yellow wire with tape on) came from, join them together with a wire link.

The blue neutral wire is simply disconnected and removed.

The existing Heatmiser thermostat and its cable can now be removed completely.

Thanks Stem.

Is this likely to be in the Honeywell wiring centre I have?

If so, I will essentially need to remove the three as you say and create a bridge where A1 and A2 were located?

Another thought...If I just have the Heatmiser set to permanently on...Will the Hive then have full control anyway?

Thanks again!

You asked how to remove it, so I assumed that you would want to do it properly. The wiring most likely will go to the wiring centre, but that would depend upon the personal preferences of the original installer.

If you wanted to, you can leave the Heatmiser set to be 'on' permanently and at maximum temperature (I assume it is a PRT model with time and temperature control) and that will allow the Hive to take overall control. Alternatively if you are happy to leave the Heatmiser in place, you could simply move the brown wire from 'L' and put it in 'A2' with the green / yellow and black tape wire. (remove the brown link too) That way the Heatmiser won't be consuming any power and unlike the leaving it permanently 'on' can't be tampered with, or cause a problem for the Hive in the future if it develops a fault.

Thank you, will look at the wiring centre when I can get in the loft!
