Replacing Neff oven half moon heating element

Yesterday I replaced the half moon element in my Neff bottom fan oven. When I removed the old element it appeared to have only two connections on the left hand side, is this correct? Should there be anything connecting the bar on the right hand side? The new element seems to be heating up the oven but it appears bright red behind the fan plate until it reaches temperature, is this normal? I purchased a genuine Neff part from their website.

Yes just the two connections nothing connects to the bar, if the fan is running ok the element will glow a dull red when on. Wise choice to get a genuine element as there are some sh!te ones out there.
